Passiflora ambigua or Passion Flower is a very rare Passiflora that grows very fast and becomes very big.Its highly decorative blooms are 4 to 5 inches across, and are followed by delicious fruit. native to southern Africa from South Africa to Malawi. This genus was named
after the Italian botanist Giovanni Zantedeschi (1773–1846). It has a particularly rich historical significance in its native habitat of southern Africa.This
bulb was highly regarded by the Xhosa for its medicinal and edible
qualities. Placing a warm leaf on the forehead is said to aid headaches
and the fresh leaf is soothing for insect bites.
